About

He spent several years working as a cowboy and a few years as a farrier until he started training horses full time in 2001. Will moved to the Cowichan Valley in 2012 and became a full time farrier. Will no longer offers any horse training services. His training articles are still available here and at Horse Journals. Will maintains a busy farrier practice and is active in the farrier community. He served as the vice president of the Western Canadian Farrier Association for a number of years. Will was instrumental in the formation of a Canadian farrier apprenticeship program and is currently the registrar of the Farrier Trainers of Canada .

Will’s apprentice and junior partner is Kali Menu. She also happens to be his future daughter-in-law. Kali has a Certificate of Farrier Science from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is working on her 2nd Level of apprenticeship in the Farrier Trainers of Canada progam.
